Choosing the right recliner
Manual recliners use a side handle or push-back mechanism and tend to cost less than power models. Power recliners use a motor and button for one-touch reclining, often with extras like adjustable headrests, heat, and massage — they need to sit near a wall outlet. Rocker recliners combine a gentle rocking motion with reclining and are a popular pick for nurseries and family rooms. Swivel gliders add rotation, useful for rooms where you want to turn toward a TV, window, or conversation area without repositioning the whole chair. Leave a few inches of clearance behind any recliner for the footrest and reclining mechanism.
